HSI Fellows Program
HSI Fellows Program Overview
The HSI Fellows program will support the efforts of the HSI Committee and HSI Committee Coordinating Team at Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ through innovative development and implementation of HSI initiatives that support all communities at our university. With this program, up to three Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ team members (faculty or staff) will be supported in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing an HSI initiative that aligns with the strategies set forth by the HSI Committee Coordinating Team.
Fellows who are selected will be awarded up to $3,000 for project support that can be done in the form of research or a quality improvement initiative that is done in consultation with the Office of the President and Office of the Provost. Selected Fellows will also be given a seat on the HSI Committee and HSI Committee Coordinating Team.
Eligibility
Must be a Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ full-time staff or full-time faculty member.
Required Application Materials
- One letter of recommendation from a professional reference (i.e., supervisor or colleague);
- Purpose statement describing the applicant's commitment to cultivating a culture of achievement for all learners and team members at Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ. The statement shall include reference to the applicant's experience with supporting underserved communities in addition to their desired professional outcomes from the program, if selected (1 page);
- Description of proposed HSI initiative to be completed as part of the experience, if selected (Note: this may change after fellows are selected and applicants are not necessarily bound to the proposed effort). Please include a budget and the specific amount being requested. (1-2 pages); and
- Resume or curriculum vitae.
Process
Applications are due by Friday, November 1, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. All applicants will be notified whether they were selected no later than December 6, 2024.
Initiatives may begin on January 1, 2025 with a final dissemination of findings due no later than October 1, 2025. Fellows may fulfill the dissemination requirement by way of a presentation to the HSI Committee or at a relevant conference to ensure knowledge on best practices is shared with a broad set of stakeholders. Fellows may consult with the Office of the President and Office of the Provost on an acceptable dissemination plan.
