MEDIA RELATIONS
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ) Media Relations team serves as both a campus-based news bureau and Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ’s most direct connection to the external news media and the diversity of audiences that today’s news media serves. On a daily basis, our media liaisons work with a network of journalists from news organizations across the globe to highlight compelling stories from our university and to respond to media queries for information or perspective on topics and issues related to Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ.

The Media Relations team seeks to maximize significant positive media coverage of the university, its people and programs. Our purpose is to cultivate relationships with reporters and editors to improve acceptance of story ideas; facilitate media’s ability to access information; and communicate effectively about the achievements of the institution, its faculty, staff and students, externally and internally.
The Media Relations team initiates and/or responds to news media requests and manages those interactions. If an employee or department is contacted directly by the news media, please notify the Media Relations team, before providing any information or responding to questions.
To submit a story idea, contact the Media Relations team. We have access to numerous news media contacts and will work to coordinate potential news coverage for programs, events or newsworthy topics.
The Media Relations team escorts the media through our building due to HIPPA and FERPA regulations. Patients cannot be interviewed, taped or photographed without completing the proper media consent forms. The Media Relations team works with health care providers to make sure this is done accurately and before any interviews, photos or videos take place.
