Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science Admissions Requirements
The Ph.D. RS program begins three times a year, in the Summer, Fall and Spring. Please visit the link below for deadline information. The online application and all supporting documentation must be received by the deadline.
Admissions Requirements
- Online Application
Applicants for the Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science program must complete the (healthprofessions.ttuhsc.edu/apply/). - Application Fee
The $75.00 application fee may be paid by credit card through the online application system. You may also pay by check or money order. Please mail your check or money order to the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs (3601 4th Street MS 6294, Lubbock, TX 79430). Please make checks and money orders payable to "Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ." The application fee is non-refundable. - Official Transcripts

Applicants must submit official electronic transcripts directly from the institution or third-party processing center to shp.application@ttuhsc.edu.
- Applicants must submit official transcripts of college coursework from all colleges attended, utilizing one of the options above. The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is separate from Texas Tech University. Do not send transcripts to Texas Tech University, as this will delay the processing of your application.
- Please note, official transcripts from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center are not required. Official transcripts from Texas Tech University are required.
- Transcripts from any international college or university must have an official course-by-course evaluation from a Foreign Transcript Evaluation Service.
- The applicant's responsibility is to ensure all required application materials, including updated transcripts, are submitted before the application deadline for each program.
- Official GRE Scores
We require official GRE scores for admission through the Fall 2024 semester. Effective Spring 2025, the
GRE will be optional but recommended. The SHP's GRE submission code is 6851. GRE scores over five
years old are not considered valid - Degree
A graduate degree in a rehabilitation science or related discipline is required for admission into the Ph.D. RS program. - Minimum GPA
A minimum GPA of a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of coursework is required - Supporting Documents
A letter of intent specifying your area of interest is required. You will submit this through your online application.
You will also submit a resume and a writing sample, (such as a copy of a master thesis or research paper). - Letters of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation are required for an application to be complete. Letters of recommendation are submitted through the online application. A recommender's name and email address will be required. Your recommender will receive an email with a link to the recommendation form for them to submit electronically. - International Applicants

Application Process
Applications are considered on a rolling basis for acceptance into the professional
program. Individual applications are reviewed once materials have been received; therefore,
it is in the applicant's best interest to complete their application, including submission
of required documentation, as early as possible. Fulfillment of the basic requirements
does not guarantee admission.
Applicants who meet the above listed requirements and are deemed competitive candidates
for admission will be invited to Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ for an interview. The admissions committee
selects the most qualified applicants for admission by considering the following:
cumulative GPA, GRE Scores, interview scores, recommendation letters, letter of intent,
resume, writing sample, and other factors.
Interviews
Admission interviews are granted by the Ph.D. admissions committee by invitation only. Applicants are selected for interviews based on a holistic evaluation of their application and supporting documents.
