Workforce Development, Education, and Research Initiative
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ) Master of Science Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling program serves the population of West Texas, and forwards the mission of the University by providing services focused on the unique needs of individuals in diverse communities, especially rural areas. The Workforce Development, Education, and Research Initiative was developed and implemented to empower people with disabilities make informed choices, build viable careers, and live more independently within the community. Faculty within the Master of Science Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling program provide comprehensive services to individuals with a wide range of physical and psychiatric disabilities, chronic conditions or diseases, and social disabilities in achieving their education, career, and independent living goals. Faculty that provide these services are Certified Rehabilitation Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors, or National Certified Counselors.
Clinical Services
The Workforce Development, Education, and Research Initiative integrates services with evidence-based research in order to provide comprehensive services to individuals with a wide range of disabilities, employers, and human resources staff. These services include:
- Personal Social Adjustment Training
- Professional Consultation
- Pre-Employment Services
- Career Counseling and Exploration
- Personal, Vocational, and Social Adjustment Training
- Disability Training and Community Resources
- Professional Resume/Cover Letter Development
- Job Skills Training
