Retired & Senior Volunteer Program
At the Lubbock Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), our mission is to improve lives, enhance communities, and enrich the experiences of volunteers aged 55 and older. We are dedicated to meeting critical community needs among vulnerable populations, and we do so through a steadfast commitment to education, wellness, and skill-based volunteer programs.
Lubbock RSVP, envisions a community that exhibits a strong and pervasive ethic of service through volunteerism, communication, and action, to address the needs of our community.
• Supplemental insurance coverage at no cost to volunteer.
• Stay active and socialize with other volunteers.
•FREE events through the year:
• Informational Forum - Focused on educating and informing seniors on how to age well physically, mentally,
emotionally and financially.
• Movie Night - Volunteers and friends can enjoy a night of food, fun and fellowship while watching
a classic movie.
• Recognition Ceremony - Formal banquet for members and guests to enjoy a free meal and musical entertainment.
Volunteers who have reached 4,000 hours of service are recognized with the Presidential
Lifetime Achievement Award.

Lubbock RSVP Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients
These wonderful RSVP Volunteers, received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. They have contributed more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service to our community.
Marian Anderson
Marian enrolled with RSVP in 2013. She has served in several organizations, including CASA, Gentiva & Kindred Hospice and RSVP Social Services.
Beverly Bearden
Beverly enrolled with RSVP in 2017 and has served Lubbock Meals on Wheels. During the COVID pandemic, LMOW was considered an essential service and she continued to serve during that time.
Judith Burnett
Enrolled with RSVP in 2001. She has served as a member of Friends of the Library, Lubbock Art Alliance, and RSVP Community Assistance. We are so glad that she was able to attend in person this year and to be formerly recognized.
Thomas Tidwell
Thomas enrolled with RSVP in 2010. During this time he has served at Covenant Lakeside Hospital, Family Promise of Lubbock, South Plains Food Bank and Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
Dianna Walker
Dianna enrolled with RSVP in 2009 and has served with Interim Healthcare Hospice and the Lubbock VA clinic. She also assists with the Lubbock Honor Flight.
Jen Boren
Jen Boren has volunteered since August 2019.
Jen volunteers with RSVP Comfort Corps and has a total of 5,691 hours.
Terri Coffey
Terri has volunteered since September 2011. Terri has volunteered with Friends of the Library, RSVP Social Services and UMC Activities Center Line Dancers and has a total of 4,364 hours.
Bridiga Garcia
Bridiga has volunteered since January 2006. Bridiga has volunteered with RSVP Comfort
corps and Lubbock Meals on wheels and has a total of 4,138 hours.
Dianne Ivy
Dianne has volunteered since September 2015. Dianne volunteers with Friends of the Library and has a total of 6,381 hours.
Sharon Anderson
Sharon Anderson has volunteered since April of 2016. Sharon volunteers with Lubbock Meals on wheels and has a total of 6,084 hours.
Sylvia Hill
Sylvia has volunteered since June 2013, Sylvia volunteers with Exodus Prison Ministry and has volunteered 4,497 total hours
Mabel Jarrett
Mabel has volunteered since March 2005, Mabel has volunteered with SP Genealogical Society, RSVP Social Services and KTTX-TX/FM, and has volunteered 4,668 total hours.
Floyd Price
Floyd has volunteered since July 1999. Floyd has volunteers with Lubbock Sheriff’s Department, Hospice of Lubbock, Mae Simmons Senior Center, RSVP Social Services and has 4,118 hours.
Stanley Mack Young
Stanley Mack has volunteered since December 2014 with FiberMax/Bayer Museum of Agriculture
and has a total 6,536 hours.
