Block the Blaze
What is Block the Blaze?
Block the Blaze is a John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF) funded youth skin cancer education and awareness program. Block the Blaze encourages youth to be outdoors, active, and healthy while focusing on sun safety, including skin cancer prevention and early detection. Blocking the Blaze is important all year, not just those summer months. That is why the program is provided year-round, in classrooms during the school year, and during summer programs. The school presentations are tailored based on grade level so students receive a fun, informative presentation that is easy to understand. Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ is partnering with the John Wayne Cancer Foundation to train facilitators to go out into our Texas communities and educate middle to high school aged kids. Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ is not the owner of the Block the Blaze material. Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ has been approved to educate, certify, organize and send Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ representatives to the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ campuses and their surrounding community schools to present about the dangers of melanoma and skin cancer.
