Dear Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Community,

We have been informed that a second Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ) student has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). This student was not on campus at the time of infection.

University staff and associated health officials will work diligently to identify and inform all individuals who may have been in contact with students confirmed or suspected with COVID-19. We will keep in direct communication with such students to help them through this challenging time.

All Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ faculty, staff, and students are required to report possible COVID-19 exposures related to clinical work to the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Office of Institutional Health. Additionally, I strongly encourage our Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ community to report personal exposures to the same office. Contact Nicole Hines, R.N., MSN, CIC, director, at nicole.hines@ttuhsc.edu or 806.368.2647 (staffed 24/7) so we can assist in following protocols and/or gaining access to available resources.

We encourage all members of the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ family to follow their respective community guidelines regarding movement outside of your homes. Additionally, continue practicing , which include washing your hands often, putting distance between yourself and other people, avoiding close contact with people who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when you are sick.

Your health and safety continue to be our primary concern. Live our values, be vigilant in caring for yourself and in encouraging others. We are ONE TEAM, and together we will get through this.

Warmest regards,
