Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

As you may know, there is an outbreak of a new virus in China, the coronavirus. The virus causes infections with flu-like symptoms: fever, cough, and shortness of breath due to pneumonia. The outbreak is affecting individuals primarily in the Hubei Province and is concentrated in the city of Wuhan.

Cases of the coronavirus have now been confirmed in the U.S. in persons returning from China. If you or someone you know has visited China since December 1, 2019, particularly in the last 14 days, there is a risk for this infection. Please seek urgent attention in the Emergency Department if you experience these symptoms and encourage others to do so as well.

Your health is our priority. As such, we will keep you informed of any significant changes concerning the coronavirus. I also encourage you to be an advocate for your health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides current information on its website: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/alert/novel-coronavirus-china.

Additionally, Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ offers a range of health care services for students. Please visit student health services to learn more.

Sincerely,
