Medical Intern

Hi! My name is Kate Holder, and I grew up in Amarillo Texas where I developed a passion for public policy and healthcare equality. After graduating with an accounting degree from Texas Tech, I spent time in public accounting and politics to develop a deeper understanding of the US healthcare system before returning to Lubbock for medical school. As a second-year medical student, I have enjoyed pursuing research in the fields of Urology and Internal Medicine. I have also enjoyed being an active member of the Texas and American Medical Association, where I have written legislation and lobbied for more medical and research funding. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors with TTU’s Wilderness Medicine Club.
