Geriatrics Fellowship


Geriatric fellows’ responsibilities include participation in a university setting with clinical and academic programs to train medical students, residents and allied health professionals. Full range of clinical activities are available in addition to long-term care, including hospital consultation, outpatient/ambulatory care, assisted living settings, hospice and home care.

Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ-Lubbock hosts the renowned Mildred and Shirley L. Garrison Geriatric Education and Care Center, the first on-site teaching nursing home of any medical school in the nation, and enjoys a beautiful new outpatient Texas Tech Physicians’ Pavilion for ambulatory care.

Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ School of Medicine is a Donald W. Reynolds Foundation Aging and Quality of Life grant recipient. Research opportunities include the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Garrison Institute on Aging, the F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health, and the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health. Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ SOM is a multi-campus unit of the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ System, allowing for research and educational collaboration across campuses.
