Amarillo faculty, staff recognized at annual ceremony

TTU System Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., was in Amarillo July 28 for the annual Distinguished Staff and Years of Service Awards presentation to recognize faculty and staff from all Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ schools. 


ABC²4WT grant extended

The Breast Center of Excellence learned Aug. 16 that funding for its ABC²4WT program would be extended by the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) for an additional three years


White coat ceremony highlights pharmacy school boot camp

The School of Pharmacy welcomed its 116-member Amarillo Class of 2021 into the pharmacy program with a White Coat Ceremony Aug. 13 at the Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza


Employees receive Texans Caring for Texans recognition

Three employees from Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ-Amarillo were honored Aug. 10 at the Texans Caring for Texans ceremony. The award recognizes state employees in the Texas Panhandle for the effort they put forth to positively impact their communities. 


Leadership is a family affair for Lenamon

A graduate of the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ-Abilene campus, and current pharmacy resident in Amarillo, recently received the Dean’s Student Leadership Award for the Abilene campus. 


One solar eclipse, two perspectives

Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ staff, faculty and students witnessed a piece of history Aug. 21 by viewing the first total solar eclipse in the contiguous U.S. since 1979.


Our HSC provides bottle fillers in Amarillo

As the Our HSC campaign reaches its one-year anniversary at Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ-Amarillo, the initial fruits of the employee-funded giving initiative have provided four water bottle refill stations recently installed across campus.

Pharmacy students prepare for future at annual conference

A group of Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ pharmacy students and faculty attended the Texas Pharmacy Association Conference last month in San Antonio. They attended many presentations, and took part in a pair of competitions. 


Poison center schedules next Medication Cleanout events

The fall collection cycle for Medication Cleanout, an important community program started by the Texas Panhandle Poison Center, has been scheduled. The event will be held Oct. 28 on the Amarillo campus. 


Scholarships send grad students to vascular conference

Two graduate students from the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ-Amarillo campus, used travel scholarships to attend the North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO) Vasculata July 24-27 at the University of Illinois in Chicago. 


GiRL Power 2017 Announced

The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health invites those with 10- to 13-year-old daughters to GiRL Power 2017, a program designed to promote self-esteem, develop life skills and inspire positive motivation in pre-teen girls


Amarillo’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has partnered with Ping4Alerts! to provide citizens in Amarillo and throughout Potter and Randall counties with emergency notifications.
